Evan Caminiti is a composer and sound artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Working primarily with electronics, guitar, and field recordings, his process draws from traditions of minimalism, dub, and musique concrete to create vivid aural narratives. He has performed throughout Europe, North America, Japan, and Australia in solo performances and as a member of the duos Barn Owl and Higuma. Caminiti was a frequent collaborator with late experimental filmmaker Paul Clipson and he composed two original film scores in 2020. One of those films, Autoscopy, from London based director Claes Nordwall, was selected to screen in the “Narrative Shorts” program at the prestigious Slamdance Film Festival 2021. Caminiti’s work has been published on his imprint Dust Editions, in addition to Shelter Press, Root Strata, Important Records, Thrill Jockey Records, and more.
