DAD is a band based out of Brooklyn, NY. They specialize in creating an atmosphere of mayhem both on stage and in the studio, transcending basic punk formulas and achieving a fresher, darker brand of doom-drenched ecstasy. Their sound and lyrics are a sharp & bloodied knife drawing inspiration from an eclectic group of acts that include Slayer, Jesus Lizard, and Big Black.

Ever since leaving the house for a pack of smokes and never returning home, Mom says he’s been keeping pretty busy these days, getting wasted on cheap beer during the day and wreaking havoc at the local dive clubs at night…

DAD, the unapologetically fierce Brooklyn-based band, first emerged in the Northeast bringing a raw and powerful sound back in June 2016. Their first singles, “Company Policy” and “Chasm,” set the stage for their frantic energy and biting social commentary.

In March 2017, DAD unleashed “Party At Mike’s” on Greedy Dilettante Records. Sweet Static hailed it as “a crunchy, unforgiving thrasher,” while Tiny Mix Tapes called it “a template for no-fooling-around filth rock.” That fall, DAD embarked on a short but impactful Northeast tour with A Deer A Horse, celebrating in the pit with some new fans. They capped off the tour by dropping the single “Story of Man” in October 2017, a hard-hitting reflection on unapologetic American behavior.

Throughout 2018, DAD continued to make moves, sharing stages with Pop. 1280, He Is Legend, and Frankie Rose. They released “Domesticate Me” in April 2018, a track that MetalSucks declared would be “right at home on any Amphetamine Reptile release from their golden years.” September 2018 saw the release of “Road Soda,” premiering on Post Trash with a video debut on Alt Citizen. They hit the road again in February 2019 for another tour of the Northeast, further solidifying their reputation for intense, high-energy performances.

2020 saw live shows grind to a halt, prompting the band to focus on their studio work. DAD released the EP “Home Is Hell,” followed by the heavier “Doomeater” EP in February 2021, and “Human Garbage” in January 2022, all on their new label, Fear Icon Records. Each release highlighted their evolving sound and steadfast commentary on societal issues.

Fast forward to 2024, DAD recorded at Silver Cord studios in Brooklyn with Johann Meyer, known for his work with Gojira. The year has already been marked by the release of two standout singles: “Behind The Times” in April and “Snake Handshake” on July 19th, both of which have been met with notable acclaim. The band recently wrapped up a short tour of Upstate NY and Connecticut with Cash Bribe, followed by a blistering performance at Fishfest IV in Wurtsboro, NY, where their intense and unfiltered sound left audiences both exhilarated and questioning their life choices.
