The Rachels
Though best known as a solo pianist, Rachel Grimes is also a composer and arranger. Besides her modern takes on classical music, she is also a founding member of the indie-rock chamber ensemble Rachel’s. Her compositions have appeared in feature films, documentaries for Showtime, HBO series, and as the soundtrack for various art installations and other exciting projects. Her sound, with one foot in the long history of classical music and the other planted firmly in the sound of modern music, makes her a hot commodity in the classical world, with near constant commissions from everyone from the Smithsonian to the New York Historical Society.
